FAQ

Common questions

Is Constrings an App Store Connect replacement?

No. Constrings is a helper that works alongside App Store Connect. It allows you to draft, edit, and validate your metadata locally, then sync those drafts. It does not handle app submissions, build distribution, pricing, or app privacy configurations.

Where does Constrings store my data?

Everything is kept on your Mac. The local library is stored in your Application Support directory (~/Library/Application Support/Constrings/), and your App Store Connect credentials remain in the macOS Keychain.

Does Constrings use analytics?

No. The app does not include telemetry, crash reporting, tracking SDKs, or external servers. We believe developer tools should be private and clean. This website also runs without any analytics scripts or trackers by default.

What fields can I edit?

You can edit the six core metadata draft fields: App Name, Subtitle, Promotional Text, Description, Keywords, and What's New (release notes). System fields like Support/Marketing URLs, Copyrights, and Privacy Policies remain inside App Store Connect.

Do Markets results require Apple Ads?

No. Markets queries Apple's public Search and Lookup endpoints directly. It does not require an Apple Search Ads account, custom API keys, or access to any external databases.
